I'm not a perfect friend, but.....

I’m not a perfect friend, but I’ve realized that a small circle of genuine friends is far better than maintaining appearances with people who have slandered, judged, and betrayed me. I deserve friends who motivate, inspire, and uplift me. I don’t need to fake kindness to those who have caused me pain. I remember what you did, and while I’ve forgiven, I haven’t forgotten.

Finding peace of mind sometimes means setting boundaries with those who broke your trust and took advantage of your kindness. It’s painful to acknowledge that some friendships were never real, but it’s essential for self-care. I was that friend who gave my all, believing in the good in others, but now, for my peace, I choose to distance myself and leave the past behind.

Life is too short to waste on toxic friendships. I’d rather have a few true friends than a crowd of fake ones. True friendship is built on mutual respect, trust, and support. It’s about being there for each other, not tearing each other down. So, if this means my circle is smaller, so be it. My peace of mind and emotional well-being are worth far more than maintaining relationships that bring me down.

To those who have been true, thank you. To those who haven’t, I wish you well, but from afar. I’m moving forward with a lighter heart, a clearer mind, and a stronger sense of who I am and what I deserve.
